Saving Lives with the COVID-19 Vaccine in NJ Asian-American Communities

  • As part of a virtual Town Hall series on the COVID-19 vaccine, the New Jersey Department of Health is hosting a free public conversation led by medical professionals from NJ's Asian American communities who will address facts, fears, and myths. Janine Llamzon, RN with St. Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson, will moderate this discussion featuring the following esteemed physicians: Dr. Hafeza Shaikh, DO, FACC, FACOI, Cherry Hill Free Clinic and co-founder of CommUNITY SJP; Dr. Naveen Merohtra, pediatrician and adjunct faculty member, Rutgers – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey

  • Dr. Meg Fisher, Special Advisor to Commissioner Persichilli, was among the guests for an online discussion on students returning to school sponsored by the Trenton Branch NAACP. Dr. Fisher shared information on the vaccines currently available and her work as a pediatrician. Watch it here.

  • Dr. Eddy Bresnitz, NJDOH Medical Advisor, participated in a telephone town hall with Rep. Mikie Sherrill (NJ11) and local officials about the American Rescue Plan on Tuesday. Dr. Bresnitz discussed vaccine distribution in the state. Listen to it here.
