What is the State Parks Vax Pass? How do I get one?

Last Updated: 05/19/2021

Every New Jerseyan who is fully vaccinated or receives their first COVID-19 vaccination shot by July 4th is eligible to receive a free season "State Parks Vax Pass" good for entrance at any state park for the rest of 2021 – from Memorial Day weekend through the end of the calendar year.

Starting Thursday, May 27th, go to nj.gov/vaxandvisit to register for your State Parks Vax Pass and you will receive an email with your pass.

Once you have your pass, you can go to any state park and get free entry.

The State Parks Vax Pass, which will be of the same value as the Annual State Parks Pass, will allow free access to all of New Jersey's 51 State parks and forest facilities that charge daily walk-in or parking fees, from Thursday, May 27 through December 31, 2021.

New Jersey residents who have received at least their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine will also be able to request a State Parks Vax Pass upon entry at any one of the state's 51 parks. The Department of Environmental Protection will also provide refunds to residents who already purchased Annual State Park Passes this year and have been fully vaccinated.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection will offer this free State Parks Vax Pass under the new "Vax and Visit" campaign.

Vax and Visit is part of Operation Jersey Summer, which is aimed at getting as many New Jerseyans ages 12 and up vaccinated against COVID-19. For more information about Operation Jersey Summer, visit covid19.nj.gov/jerseysummer.
