How do I safely handle deliveries and interact with in-home service providers?

There is low risk of spread from products or packaging that are shipped over a period of days or weeks at ambient temperatures. Coronaviruses are generally thought to be spread most often by respiratory droplets.

When accepting deliveries, residents should maintain proper social distancing practices by staying six feet apart to minimize contact. If it is possible to designate an area for packages to be dropped off, such as a front porch, please do so.

For critical services that cannot be postponed and must be performed within your home, such as heating or plumbing repairs, residents should maintain proper social distancing practices by staying six feet apart. Cover your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing, and clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces after services have been completed.

Out of an abundance of caution, when handling or reading your mail, the newspaper, or packages, it would be best to avoid touching your face. Also, wash your hands with soap and water after handling, and keep them in one spot in your home.
