Is it safe to visit a newborn baby? If not, how long should I stay away?

While children seem to fare well during coronavirus infections, newborns do not have fully developed immune systems. A study of children conducted in China found that of various age groups, newborns were the most likely to develop severe to critical symptoms. It would be best to avoid visiting until after this outbreak is over. Not only could a visit place the infant at risk, but it could also infect the parent(s). For now it is advisable to stick to digital forms of communication.
